What is Bespoke Tailoring

Bespoke is a term, dating from the 17th century, for tailored clothing made at a customer's behest, and exactly to the customer's specification. Once a customer had chosen a length of material, it was said to have “been spoken for”. The terms bespoke, custom made and tailor made are synonymous. Bespoke clothing is traditionally cut from a paper pattern drafted from scratch for the customer.
